About Me

When I was four years old, I boldly told anyone who asked that when I grew up, I was going to be a writer, an artist, a nun, and a mother. You can thank Tomie DePaola for the first three; reading his beautiful picture books made me fall in love with stories and pictures and, well, nuns. I'm happy to say that now that I'm all grown up, I get to do three of those things every day, even though I gave up on the nun bit when I met a really wonderful violin maker/artist and got married. Early in the morning I write stories and the rest of the day I homeschool and make art of all sorts with my eight children. I'm very nerdy about books and creativity and saints. (Oh yeah, you can thank Tomie DePaola for that one, too.)
